The Postgraduate Certificate in Addictions course promotes the psychodynamic understanding of current theoretical and practical approaches to the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders.Topics incorporate an integrated approach to substance use disorder and mental health comorbidity, including behavioral addictions: sex, gambling and tobacco use. The course will synthesize lecture, case presentation and classroom discussion for 45 credit hours towards the completion of the New York State CASAC requirements of addiction-specific education and training.
