Introductory Workshop on Understanding and Responding to Client Dreams
Barb Bodnar
This two day (6-hour) workshop prepares clinicians to respond therapeutically when a client wants to explore a dream. Participants will learn basic concepts of Jungian theory, receive guidance on ways to listen and respond to a client’s dream, and engage in experiential exercises to practice implementing dream work techniques. Many mental health practitioners have received little formal training in working with clients’ dreams. By emphasizing how to engage collaboratively with clients in dream exploration, the workshop provides an approach clinicians can integrate into their practice.Based on Carl Jung’s view that all dreams come in the interest of healing and wholeness, participants will learn how dream exploration can play a role in clients’ progress.
